Project 6: Boot Support

There's a tiny tear in my beloved solid winter boots, but I haven't repaired it yet. Until then, I have created a way to provide the boots support when they're being stored: I think the tear originated from the stress of being stored over the summer folded over. Thus, this way they won't befall the same fate, nor strain the current rip.

Day 2: DIY = Time-consuming

Sealing and Drying

I decided what to do today too late. This is an action shot of nail polish drying. Making your own earring blanks isn't hard but it does take a while. I spent a good long time today trying to get inspired by something...perhaps when I decided excitedly what I was going to do yesterday, I should have thought ahead another day as well.

On the plus side, before my evening malaise I did manage to pack my fabric into my new vintage suitcase. The yellow notepad next to it is an inventory: Works In Progress, Potentials, and Stash. I have a lot more stash than I probably strictly need, but I'll clear up a good amount of space if I finish the projects I've already started (WIPs) and the ones I've set aside fabric for (Potentials).

Rainy Day Blues

Welp, so far this "living alone" experiment has not been especially successful.  But, true to my word, I have been getting things done.  Mostly "looking for inspiration" on the other craft blogs of the internet, fancy that.  A truly shocking outcome of long hours of unstructured time.

But I also fixed a chair, yes.  And the cats helped, they tested it for stability.  While it was upside down.  Resting on a table.

paper problems
And then I spent a little more time agonizing over my French notebook, which has taught me an important life lesson: paper glued to cardboard will not bend in a well-mannered way.  If you can get it to bend much at all.  Any and all future journals will be constructed with printed materials, or possibly with an overabundance of glue and a lot of hope.

And then I finished up the banner for this blog, since the pencil version really did not work out.

So, uh, yeah.  It was much less that I was actually productive today and much more that I realized at 4pm that I needed to get some stuff done, lest I fail at my experiment on the first day!
